Expert Medicare Enrollment Services: Medicare advantage sign up,

What You Need to Know About Medicare Part

Coverage: Medicare Part A mainly provides coverage for inpatient hospital care. This includes medical care you receive while admitted to a hospital, as well as care in a skilled nursing facility, hospice care, and certain home health services.

Cost: Most people don’t pay a monthly premium for Medicare Part A because they or their spouse paid Medicare taxes during their working years. However, if you haven’t met the required Medicare tax payments, you might have to pay a premium. There are also deductibles and coinsurance costs associated with Part A services.

Deductible: Medicare Part A requires you to meet a deductible for inpatient hospital stays. After you meet this deductible, Medicare covers the full cost of your hospital stay for up to 60 days, with no daily coinsurance fees.

Coinsurance: If your hospital stay extends beyond 60 days, you will be responsible for a daily coinsurance fee starting on day 61.

Enrollment: For most people, enrollment in Medicare Part A is automatic when they turn 65, especially if they are already receiving Social Security benefits. If you’re not automatically enrolled, you must sign up during your Initial Enrollment Period, which starts three months before your 65th birthday and ends three months after.

Understanding Eligibility for Medicare Advantage Plans

If you’re eligible for Medicare, you can also apply for a Medicare Advantage plan. However, you must be enrolled in both Medicare Part A and Part B before you can purchase a Medicare Advantage plan, and it’s important to know that you cannot drop Part B once you have an Advantage plan; doing so will result in losing your Advantage coverage.

Eligibility Criteria for Medicare Advantage Plans: Apply for medicare part d

  1. Medicare Enrollment: To qualify for a Medicare Advantage (Part C) plan, you must already be enrolled in Original Medicare (Part A and Part B).
  2. Network Area: You must live within the service area of the Medicare Advantage plan you want to join.
  3. ESRD Eligibility: Since 2021, individuals diagnosed with End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) can enroll in almost all Medicare Advantage plans, a change from previous rules where many plans did not accept new enrollees with ESRD.
  4. General Requirements: You must meet the same eligibility criteria as for Original Medicare:
    • Citizenship: You must be a U.S. citizen or a legal permanent resident for at least five consecutive years.
    • Residency: You need to reside in the plan’s service area for at least six months each year.

By meeting these requirements, you can access a range of Medicare Advantage plans and their benefits.
